Since Renault’s installation in Brazil, over R$ 12 billion has been invested in the country. For the 2023-2025 cycle, R$ 2 billion, according to the manufacturer. “Investment that generates development for the country and employment and income for the population. We are talking about a sector that represents a fifth of the national transformation industry and employs directly and indirectly over 1 million people,” stressed Lula, who was accompanied by the national president of the PT, federal deputy Gleisi Hoffmann (PR).
According to the President, industries have regained confidence in Brazil, allowing us to believe that the country’s future will be one of more growth and opportunities. “Not by chance, since I took office, we have announced investments of around R$ 130 billion from the automotive industry for the next years,” pointed out.
Vice President Geraldo Alckmin celebrated the moment, saying that the President is a worker in the industry. “He is the leader of the industry workers and has the commitment to make the industry grow,” he added. “And another good news is the Renault’s investments in the country, R$ 5.1 billion between 2021 and 2026,” he said.
Confidence
For Renault’s President in Brazil, Ricardo Gondo, the company’s confidence, which has been operating in the Brazilian market for over 25 years, reflects the country’s potential to meet the growing demand for sustainable practices. “The automotive industry and mobility are undergoing a great transformation worldwide. And this transformation brings a series of challenges, but also great opportunities for building a more sustainable future. Renault trusts the Brazilian market. Renault trusts Brazil,” he said.
In the Paraná complex, the brand operates in two shifts and employs around 5,000 workers, with 3,500 in production and 1,500 in administrative positions. “This is a very important moment, it’s historic. We are returning, again, to gather workers, gather companies, gather the government, to seek together the path of creativity, mobility, and also sustainable Brazil. We cannot just seek a sustainable product in China, we have to create it here in Brazil,” emphasized the President of the Metalworkers’ Union of Greater Curitiba, Sérgio Butka.
Boiadeira Road
During the ceremony, the President witnessed the signing of the order, made by the Minister of Transportation, Renan Filho, for the start of the BR-487/PR road paving project, known as the Boiadeira Road, between Serra dos Dourados, in Umuarama, and Cruzeiro do Oeste.
The investment in the project is approximately R$ 322 million. In addition to paving, the project includes shoulders, third lanes, five intersections with state highways and rural roads, five viaducts, and two bridges, one over the Piava River and another over the Curimbatá River.
“We will make things happen again, because for me, only economic growth can generate wealth distribution, only economic growth can make us have what we produce,” said the President.
Agroindustries
The road is a corridor connecting the states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, with service poles and agroindustries in Paraná, until reaching the Port of Paranaguá. Its route presents conditions to maintain low operational costs for trucks, making it an attractive road and allowing for the export of agricultural production and economic and social development in the region.
“The Boiadeira, as it is known by Paranaenses, is a road that connects the west of the state and brings all the production of Mato Grosso do Sul and part of Paraguay to the port of Paranaguá, which is already the second largest port in the country in terms of export capacity. Investing in infrastructure is betting on Brazil’s growth, job creation, and economic growth,” emphasized Renan Filho, Minister of Transportation.
In the context of the national road network, the implementation of the road will reduce the distance between the cities of Naviraí (MS) and Paranaguá (PR) by 80 km, and in the regional context, it will reduce the distance between the cities of Icaraíma (PR) – border with MS – and Cruzeiro do Oeste (PR) by 30 km.
