Alberto Fernández, former President of Argentina, was formally accused of gender violence by his ex-wife, Fabiola Yáñez.
The accusation, which includes allegations of physical violence and harassment, was registered by the Argentine Justice on Tuesday, 6, according to judicial sources reported by local media.
The accusation came to light after investigators found evidence, including messages and photos indicating physical abuse suffered by Yáñez, as well as audio recordings and text conversations in which she accuses Fernández of violent acts within the presidential residence.
As a result, a judge imposed a travel ban on the former President and ordered restrictive and protective measures in favor of Yáñez.
In response, Fernández used his social media to deny the accusations.
“Having been informed by the press about the accusation of Fabiola Yáñez against me, I want to express that the truth of the facts is different. I will only say that it is false and that what she is now accusing me of never happened. For the integrity of my children, my own and also that of Fabiola, I will not make any statements to the press, but I will provide the evidence and testimony to the Justice that will show what really happened,” Fernández stated.
